 About Blackstone

L-R Ryan, Ch Rustlin’s Blackstone Ace and Tattle, Ch Rustlin Tattle Tale CGC, the foundation of Blackstone

Joanne Torres founded the Blackstone English Cocker kennel in 1993.  In 2007, Alana Howland, who already owned a Blackstone brood bitch, joined Blackstone as Joanne's  breeding partner and co-owner.

Blackstone began with the help and friendship of Linda and Ruston Robinson, whose multiple Best in Show winner, Am Can Ch Rustlin Gallant MacDuff, is behind Blackstone English Cockers. In 1993, we acquired Ch Rustlin’s Blackstone Ace, Ryan, from the Robinsons and Joanne showed him to a championship. Then she took and finished Ch Rustlin Tattle Tale CD JH CGC, Blackstone's first Engie bitch.

Tattle and Ryan had two litters, the first of which produced Anna, Ch Blackstone Tell Tale Heart SH.  Anna was bred to several well-known stud dogs, producing Sally and Trixie, who are both active in our current breeding program.  Today, Sally's daughters Abigail and Clara are making Blackstone a four-generation success.
